Fall Is Coming
My posts are confusing because of the Blogger outage on Wednesday. My last post applies more to Wednesday's activities than those of Thursday. I'll try to catch things up with this one. Decided to mow the back yard on Thursday afternoon. Also used the blower on the patio. Looks nice out there now....but leaves are already falling and littering the grass. I need to shop for some pansies and winter flowers soon. According to the weather report there will be cooler temps by Monday....in the 60's during the day and the 40's at night. I'm more than ready for that. Talked with Gloria a little while when I went to get the mail yesterday. Andy walked over and chatted a few minutes. I had noticed the for sale sign was gone out of his yard. He said there were too many people at his house to deal with selling right now. He said his daughter was getting a divorce and is staying with them....also the two grandchildren. His son is back home after going thru a drug treatment program. He said he's been clean for six weeks which is the longest he has gone drug free that they can remember. They are hopeful he will stay that way. I don't know how many children they have....there is still the daughter who goes to UT....maybe others? Andy said things were so crowded he was sleeping in the motor home. He also asked it we had heard what happened to Pauline (Jones) across the street....he said several weeks ago she walked outside to get the paper or her mail and fell.....didn't break anything but laid there for a while until someone found her. Now she is afraid to come outside so he and another neighbor are taking her mail and paper to the front door for her. Also, some lady from her church is checking on her almost daily. Anyway, someone left a handwritten note in her mailbox (had been put in there, not thru the mail system) telling her she should be ashamed of taking advantage of her neighbors like she was....should not be leaving her money to two nephews(?) who don't care enough about her to come see about her....should be leaving money to the people who are checking on her, yada, yada, yada. The letter was signed "H.R." and she doesn't know who that could be. Andy said she was very upset by the note and worried about it. Andy said that was a cruel, mean thing to do to an elderly lady....Gloria said she bet it was some church people trying to get ahold of her money. Kind of strange.
